My thoughts on Book I

You're Safe ~ No Spoilers Here

I know that you've probably been swamped with reviews and movie trailers and have even probably seen the movie, but for me I've avoided this series until now.  I was the same with all the hype about the Twilight Saga, anything that seems so prominent in the media I tend to stay away from.  I don't know why, it's just the way I am!

So anyway, I finally caved a couple of weeks ago and bought a paperback copy from Amazon.  I began to read with much skepticism, but found after the first few chapters - which were initially hard to get into -  I actually couldn't put it down.  It was only the fact that I had to clean the house, do the ironing and various other Saturday chores that finally dragged me away.

All I  can say about the book is this:  I really enjoyed it, the characters are interesting, the plot is tight, even though you can see many of the 'twists'  unfolding and are not surprised in the slightest.  Don't think though that this book will change your life, it's just a good, entertaining read with an edge, but probably nothing you haven't come across before.  Still, it's very much worth reading and  I will continue with the other books in the series over the coming long dark winter months. A perfect way to pass the time!

My rating is:

If you've read it or any of the books in the series, leave a comment with your thoughts, we'd love to know them!

  1. I bought this book at a used bookstore because I thought about reading it at some point. Maybe when I'm not so busy with my reading list I can get around to it! Glad you liked it-maybe I will too!
